Her Love

He sits alone in the dark
Tears breaking the silence
Her love breaking his heart

Like a warm bitter rain
They bathe his face
They wash his pain

Life bleeds slowly away
He hopes and waits
Another day

His mind drowns in memories
Her words and gestures
What used to be

His soul lies vacant and torn
A wretched shell
Black and forlorn

His eyes closed for good; no longer crying
His heart stopped beating
Her love finally dying
